Suicide Prevention Training: Earn Your QPR Certification

This Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Suicide Prevention course aims to provide individuals with the necessary tools to identify and respond to someone who may be considering suicide. The course covers topics such as warning signs, communication strategies, and referral resources. Participants will gain the confidence and knowledge to intervene and potentially save a life. By promoting early intervention and awareness, this course seeks to reduce the incidence of suicide in communities.

After completing this course, attendees will receive their QPR Suicide Prevention Certification.

  

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will:

  • identify the role of the individual in the QPR suicide prevention process
  • recognize the warning signs of suicide, know how to offer hope, and know how to get help and save a life
  • receive their QPR Suicide Prevention certification

 

Registration Fee:  $10 for NYSOTA Members, $25 for Non-Members


About the Presenter:
Dr. Carrie Roberts is an Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy and AVP for Strategic Initiatives at Keuka College. She has practiced OT for over 20 years across the lifespan with a focus on pediatrics. She is the project coordinator for a SAMHSA Mental Health Awareness Training Grant that the college was awarded to provide training to the community such as Questions, Persuade, Refer (QPR) and Mental Health First Aid (MHFA).
