2024 NYSOTA Annual Conference

We are excited to be returning to Albany for conference this year. Join us for an incredible Fall weeken d of continuing education, networking and celebration at the beautifully renovated Desmond Hotel.

Registration

Full Conference registration includes the Friday evening reception, the Saturday Legislative Lunch, and the Sunday Continental Breakfast. One or Two Day registrations include the meal(s) of the ticketed day(s).

Registration also includes access to the Whova event app where you can participate in contests, create a personalized agenda, and connect with speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, and fellow attendees.

Registration Deadline
Registration will close Sunday, November 10, 2024 at 11:59 PM.

Continuing Ed Credits
Earn up to 17.5 Continuing Competency Hours (CCH) to apply to your CE requirements.

Registration Rates
NYSOTA members receive discounted registration. Join or renew to attend Conference at the member rate.

Register before August 31st to take advantage of "Early Bird" registration discounts.

Hotel Information
The conference will be held at the recently renovated Crowne Plaza Albany - The Desmond Hotel. The conference rate is $153/night plus applicable taxes. There are two options for reserving your hotel room:

• Online: Click here to reserve your hotel room.  This online booking link automatically defaults to dates for the full conference for one guest in one room. To change the date(s) of your stay, the number of guests, or the number of rooms you are reserving, edit the information at the top of the page.
  
  
• Phone:  If you would like to make your reservations by phone, call the Desmond directly at (518) 869-8100. Use Group Code OCP to receive the discounted group rate.

This rate is guaranteed until the cut-off date of October 24, 2024. After this date, rooms may not be available.

The room block often sells out before the cut-off date, so we encourage you to book your room early.

Transportation
The Crowne Plaza Albany - The Desmond Hotel is located one mile from Albany International Airport and easily accessible by bus, train, or plane. The Desmond Hotel offers free 24-hour shuttle service to and from Albany International Airport for hotel guests. For attendees planning to drive to The Desmond, parking in the hotel lot is free.

Don't forget your ticket to the President's Reception/Awards Ceremony
Join NYSOTA President Beth Chiariello for a festive evening of food, fun, and awards. The President's Reception/Awards Ceremony will take place Saturday, November 16, from 5:00 - 6:30 PM in The Desmond Hotel's High Street Ballroom. Pasta and crudités will be served and a cash bar will be available.

The President's Reception is an additional ticket that can be added to your registration. For tickets purchased on or before 10/15/24, the rate is $35 for NYSOTA members and $45 for non-members. $10 will be added to President's Reception tickets purchased after 10/15/24.

Be sure to purchase your President's Reception tickets ahead of time. A limited number of tickets may be available at the registration desk, however, we cannot guarantee the availability of tickets on-site.

NEW EVENT: Pickleball Open Play
Ticket sales for the pickleball event are now closed. Spectators are welcome - no ticket needed.
Join us for Pickleball Open Play - a great way to connect with colleagues in a fun, relaxed setting.  All skill levels are welcome. Whether you're a seasoned player or just getting started, we'd love to have you join! This event will take place Saturday, November 16, from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at True Pickleball Club in Latham, NY (a ten minute drive from the Desmond).

Pickleball Open Play is an additional ticket ($20) that can be added to your registration. If needed, rackets are $5 and can be rented on site. Pizza, snacks, water, and alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Players must wear non-marking court shoes or sneakers (prefereably without black soles).

Spectators and non-players are welcome too. Spectators do NOT need tickets, but they must wear flat shoes.

Conference Contests & Raffles
There are lots of opportunities to win prizes at Conference - the Leaderboard,  Photo, Icebreaker, and Vendor Trivia Contests on the Whova event app, the Passport Contest in the Exhibit Hall, and loads of raffle prizes. Explore the raffle tables at the event and purchase tickets for chances to win fantastic prizes.

Cancellation Policy

For orders $200 or more:  You will have the option to purchase Event Ticket Protection at the time of registration. Without Event Ticket Protection, refunds will not be allowed.

For orders less than $200:  In the event that you need to cancel your registration, you must notify NYSOTA by email at info@nysota.org. Conference registrations cancelled on or before August 15, 2024 are refundable but subject to a $65 administrative fee. Registrations cancelled between August 16 - 31, 2024 are eligible for a 50% refund. Registrations cancelled on or after September 1, 2024 are no longer eligible for a refund. 

Refunds will not be available for registrants who are "no shows."
